A Franco-Canadian photographer, I grew up in Quebec where I studied documentary and new media in Montreal.
My work is situated in the in-between, my gaze set at the border of worlds, aiming the culminating point in an encounter with others. Driven by a visceral necessity, I look for bridges, between opposing positions, I seek what re-unites. My approach is a quest to capture the imprints of time in the 21st century, beyond the grasp of textbook History. My narratives escape time, while being deeply marked by it.
Dreamlike in its representation, my work is nevertheless deeply rooted in the knowledge of history. Once a chronology is assimilate, I blur the lines to give it a new perspective. I make sketches of the the present, the first and last of all subjectivities, and only material for photography. I seek to weave intimate relationships with this fleeting moment, the paroxysm of the in-between, always on the edge between a past that never really goes away and a future that is constantly on the verge of arriving.
I currently have a book in preparation for my founding series as an author-photographer, and it is called The Passengers.
